Henrietta Bearcats! It has been another great week in HISD, and I want to share a few updates with you as we head into the weekend. Progress continues on our bond projects, some that are visible, and some that may have caught you off guard if you were at the football game last week! The new stadium lights we were able to install because of bond funds can be turned on and off very quickly, unlike the old stadium lights that would take a long time to come back on. So when we score a touchdown, the lights flash on and off, which made some people think we were having a lighting malfunction! Keep an eye out for that at the next home game on Sept 20 vs. Seymour! That is Pioneer Reunion Night, and we hope to see you there! You will also notice the track surface has been torn up in preparation for new asphalt, which we expect to be installed next week. This is going to be a great surface for our track athletes, and of course for our cheerleaders at football games. I am sure you will see me out there walking to get a few steps in, and I invite you to take advantage of the track as well once the surface is completed!
