SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT!!!!!!!!!!
When storms occur like we have experienced lately, crooks use it as an opportunity to prey on community members who have experienced a loss. Theft of service and fraudulent activity can increase in our area. Please be mindful of that and follow some safety tips to avoid being a victim of such crimes.
You can protect yourself in these instances by thoroughly researching your prospective contractor through the Better Business Bureau and online customer review sites such as Angie's List, Yelp and Home Advisor. You should also ensure that the contractor is licensed, bonded/insured and to have all agreed upon terms in a written contract which is notarized or witnessed by a 3rd party." Do now allow work to get started without these important pieces in place. Stay on top of the work and do not pay for the "completed job" until you have inspected it thoroughly and have ensured that all agreed upon work was completed as stated in the contract.
Be safe and have a great Summer!!
