Thanks to the hard work of Jordyn Taylor and Abby Logan, with guidance from their FCCLA advisor Cassie Fletcher—who herself was once a student at HES and had the joy of knowing Mrs. Pam Payne—HES now has a clothing closet to support students in need. We’ll be celebrating with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate this space in loving memory of Pam Payne, who devoted 27 years of service to HES.

Pam may be remembered most for the crazy skits she helped to write and “star” in as some wild and wacky character, bringing laughter and lightheartedness to test prep while encouraging students to do their very best. She would be thrilled to see these FCCLA students honoring her legacy in such a meaningful way.

This Thursday, April 2, World Autism Awareness Day, Henrietta ISD will wear BLUE in support of those touched by autism.

Autism is more than a diagnosis—it’s a part of the lives of so many families in our community and beyond. Today, about 1 1 in 31 8-year-old children in the United States is identified with autism, reminding us just how many of our students, friends, and neighbors are impacted every day.

Wearing blue is a simple way to show compassion, understanding, and acceptance. It’s a reminder that every individual is unique, valued, and deserving of support and belonging.

We’re excited to introduce a Botrista machine to our school café! This innovative addition is on our approved list of food offerings, and today our students are getting to taste test the new options.

We’re eager to hear what they think and explore whether this could become a regular part of our breakfast and lunch program. Providing healthy, appealing choices for our students is always a top priority, and we love finding new ways to keep things fresh and engaging.

A big thank you to our innovative HISD Food Services team for their partnership and support in helping us nourish our students with creativity and care. We can’t wait to see how our students respond!

Henrietta ISD will observe Epilepsy Awareness Day on Thursday, March 26. We wear purple to support those living with epilepsy and to spread understanding and compassion across our schools and community. Together, we raise awareness and stand with those affected.

Good afternoon -

I wanted to share an update regarding our cheer program and also highlight a few opportunities where we could use a little extra help.

One of the things that makes Henrietta ISD so special is the incredible spirit and pride that exists across our schools and community. Our students show up with energy and enthusiasm, and our community consistently supports them in meaningful ways. Because of that strong spirit—and all the great things happening—we are at a point where a little extra help will go a long way in keeping that momentum strong.

At the high school, we currently have a cheer sponsor, Annie Allen, who is doing a great job supporting the program. At this time, we are looking for a junior high cheer sponsor to help complete our sponsor team.

We have also opened a position for a Junior High/High School Cheerleading Coach. We are seeking coaches for both the high school and junior high squads. This position does not require employment with the district, making it a great opportunity for community members who want to get involved. The coach will work closely with the school sponsor to ensure all district and UIL requirements are met, and a stipend will be provided.

The primary responsibilities of the cheer coach include:

Organizing pep rally schedules and routes

Coordinating cheers and encouraging crowd involvement

Assisting with stunting and routines

Supporting practices and overall squad organization
