Parents & Community - Happy Tuesday! I am needing to update our community on Texas law that changed in 2021 on fundraising and HISD's board policy. In order to help explain these laws and policies, our business manager has worked to update our website with additional information. Any fundraisers that happen on school property, either during the school day or outside the school day, need to be approved by the district per our policy. October is national Bullying Prevention Month. We often hear the word "bullied" being used, but what does it actually mean? What is the legal definition of bullying as it relates to public schools? This is the checklist that all Texas public schools must use to determine if a behavior meets the legal threshold of "bullying".
