Habitat Heroes:Upgrading Bearded Dragon Ecosystem

The students and I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Henrietta ISD Education Foundation for funding our bearded dragon ecosystem upgrade!

Because of your generosity, we were able to expand Little Foot’s habitat to better support his growth and overall health. The upgraded environment gives our students an even richer, hands-on learning experience as they observe and care for him each day.

The support from your organization and our community donors truly makes us feel appreciated and valued. Your investment in our classroom directly impacts student engagement and learning in meaningful ways.

Thank you for believing in our students — and in Little Foot!

Next Gen Explorers

We are writing to share a huge "thank you" from our second-grade classrooms! Because of your generosity, our students’ learning has truly come to life through the two new VR headsets you provided.

In second grade, imagination is everything, but these headsets take it a step further. Our students aren't just looking at pictures; they are "traveling" to become junior dentists, doctors, and archaeologists. They are even turning into "polygon puzzle masters" as they grab and move 3-D shapes in a digital world.

Seeing their faces light up as they explore these new careers and concepts is a reminder of why we teach. You haven't just given us technology; you’ve given our seven and eight-year-olds a way to see their own bright futures.

Thank you for investing in our littlest learners and making our school a place where big dreams begin.

TI 84 CE Calculators

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your generous grant, which made it possible for us to purchase calculators for student testing. Your investment in education provides our students with the tools they need to demonstrate their knowledge and perform at their highest potential in an academically supportive environment.

Because of your support, barriers to success have been reduced, and our students now have access to essential resources that promote confidence, equity, and achievement during the testing process. This contribution will have a meaningful and lasting impact on both their academic experience and future opportunities.

Thank you for your commitment to education and for believing in the potential of our students. Your generosity is making a tangible difference in our classrooms and in the lives of those we serve.

Devian Poteet-Reed- HHS -Theatre Live Performance

On October 23, 2025, I had the opportunity to take a group of English III, Theatre Arts, and One-Act Play students to a live performance of To Kill a Mockingbird. This experience beautifully connected American Literature, theatre, and U.S. History — truly a multidisciplinary learning opportunity.

Our students represented Henrietta with outstanding audience etiquette, and I am incredibly proud to be their teacher and director. They also had the unique opportunity to see fellow theatre educators and directors, Cassie M. Toft (City View) and Shawn Duthie (Holliday), performing as talented artists. We are fortunate to compete alongside them in our district OAP contest, and it speaks volumes about our theatre community that we can support one another both on and off the stage.

A heartfelt thank you to The Backdoor Theatre for helping with seating accommodations and for the special shout-out during the performance.

Most importantly, thank you to the Henrietta ISD Education Foundation for making this experience possible. For some of our students, this was their very first time attending a live theatre performance. That alone is why opportunities like this matter so deeply.

Your support creates moments our students will carry with them long after the curtain falls.

I am incredibly grateful to the Henrietta ISD Education Foundation for funding our Ag Mechanics grant. This photo shows just the beginning of the equipment and materials arriving as we start transforming our shop.

These improvements will make our workspace safer for students while also bringing much-needed organization to our tools and materials—helping everyone work more efficiently and confidently.

Thank you for investing in our program and in the future of our students. Your support is already making a meaningful impact!

Blake Winn-HHS-Physics In Motion/Real World Kinematics Applications at Six Fags

Thank you for your generous support of our Physics field trip to Six Flags Over Texas. Because of your contribution, our students were able to experience physics in a real-world setting by collecting and analyzing data on motion, acceleration, and forces using roller coasters—and we had so much fun doing it!

This hands-on opportunity allowed students to apply classroom concepts in a meaningful way, deepening their understanding and excitement for science. We are truly grateful for your investment in our students and their learning.

Shannon Byerley - HES - Building Musical Foundations Through Glockenspiels in the Elementary Classroom

Thank you to the Henrietta Education Foundation for the generous grant! This allowed us to purchase more Glockenspiels, providing hands-on musical experiences for more students. The more experiences we provide at a young age, the more opportunities they have to find their passions in the arts! Thank you for investing in our students!

Nicole Childs-HES-Wired for Discovery Advanced Circuit Design

I would like to send out a huge shout out to Education Foundation for funding my classroom project Wired for Discovery: Building Complex Circuits.  With the supplies I was able to purchase, students were able to successfully create both series and parallel circuits and do some problem solving with incomplete circuits.  Students were engaged and locked into the lesson.  It was amazing to see, so thank you again for the funds!

Kristy Siegert and Sheridan Woodward- HES - Immersive Exploration of the Medieval Era

On behalf of the 5th Grade Team and our students, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude for your generosity.  With the Foundations support, we were able to attend Medieval Times and learn more about the time period.  Students were able to connect the actions of the knights that performed for us with the actions of Don Quixote.   It was a real-world experience that we are sure will not be forgotten.   Thank you again with your donation and helping us make this happen!

Kelly Obermier and Jessica Knause -HES-Sensory Equipment for Self Regulating

We would like to give a great big thank-you to all the donors of the Henrietta ISD Education Foundation for the generous grant we received to purchase sensory equipment for our students in the upper elementary grades. All of our students love the sensory items which help them to self-regulate on stressful days or to just enjoy when needing to take a little break from their daily work.

We greatly appreciate your generosity in donating these grants to educators as we strive to help HISD meet the growing needs of our students in every aspect of their educational journeys.

Keyla McGuire-HHS-Bearcat Blooms

Your generous funds served as the seed money to launch our new Bearcat Blooms program in Floral Design! Our students have successfully started their own small business, offering floral subscriptions to the community. They are gaining real-world experience in every aspect of running a successful shop: from cost/expense ratios, to advertising, selling, and customer service! This program is more than just flowers—it's building crucial workforce skills! All profits are being reinvested, making Bearcat Blooms a self-sustaining venture for future generations of HHS students. Thank you, HEF, for giving our students this amazing opportunity to find their passion and build valuable, desirable career skills! We are so grateful!

Kaila Fox and Sarah Goolsby-HES-Stem It Up: Worlds to Real Life Skills

Our STEM IT UP grant has been put to great use in our classroom through the purchase of engaging, hands-on STEM kits. Students have had the opportunity to explore concepts in engineering and design by working with robots, building and testing solar-powered cars, and creating their own scribble bots. These activities have encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.

In addition to these engineering experiences, students have also been strengthening their scientific observation skills by using microscopes. They have been carefully examining specimens and recording their observations in their science journals. This practice has helped them develop important skills in data collection, critical thinking, and scientific communication.

Overall, the grant has allowed us to provide meaningful, interactive learning experiences that bring STEM concepts to life in our classroom.

Sarah Goolsby-HES-Adoption in Action A Classroom Bearded Dragon Experience

Thank you to the Henrietta Education Foundation for funding our Adoption in Action grant! Because of your support, our class was able to adopt a bearded dragon we named Little Foot.

Having a class pet has brought so many benefits to our classroom. Little Foot has helped us learn responsibility through daily care, encouraged teamwork, and sparked curiosity as we observe his behavior and habitat needs. He’s also made learning more engaging and fun, giving us real-life connections to science concepts like ecosystems, nutrition, and animal adaptations.

We are so grateful for this opportunity—Little Foot has quickly become an important part of our classroom family!
