I grew up in a town called Wisconsin Dells, which is
about the same size as Henrietta. However, during the summer months
the population numbers in the 100,000’s. It is the third largest
tourist trap in the United States. I graduated from Wisconsin Dells
High School in 1983. While attending college I was a general
manager at Noah’s Ark Water Park, which is the largest water park
in America.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science,
Sociology and Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin,
where I was fortunate enough to be a member of the student
government, play football and run track & field. I then served
in the U.S. Navy for five years as a Cryptologic Technician
Interpretive (Spanish). I was stationed in Key West, Florida and
Galeta Island, Panama. While in the Navy I met and married my wife
Melissa, who is a Band Director and Music Teacher. I received my
Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Troy State
University.
I have been an administrator, teacher and coach in Texas for the
past thirteen years from the Kindergarten through High School
levels. I have taught a wide variety of subjects including
Athletics, Economics, Government, Health, Physical Education,
Spanish, U.S. History, and World Geography. This is my third year
as Assistant Principal at Henrietta High School. I have coached
various sports as an assistant or head coach including Basketball,
Cross Country, Football, Powerlifting, and Track and Field. I have
also sponsored numerous activities such as Key Club, Fellowship of
Christian Athletes, UIL Social Studies, UIL Lincoln Douglas Debate,
and UIL Cross Examination Debate. I feel that I have had a positive
impact on all of the students I have encountered over the years. I
take great stock in the education system not only as an educator,
but also as a father of two girls Joyana an eighth grader and Abby
a third grader. I hope to have a great impact on the students of
Henreitta, and look forward to meeting you.
