The first few weeks of school for the morning announcements we are focusing on being “PAWSitive” students and teachers at HES. Almost every day of our lives is filled with several opportunities to fill that basic need of all people to feel as if they matter. We can give compliments, we can express admiration, we can acknowledge hard work, we can tell people how much they’re appreciated, we can congratulate them, we can honor them in a myriad of ways. With just a little bit of thoughtfulness we can give someone the unexpected gift of affirming words. It might have a pleasant effect and last only a short time, and it might have a powerful effect and last forever. HES students and teachers pledge each day to make those “PAWSitive” choices.
