Student’s Grades and Attendance Available Online

August 27, 2008

HISD is proud to announce the launch of the Parent Portal. Parent Portal is designed to be another communication tool between the parents and the school. Through the use of Parent Portal, parents can have access to their student’s grades, attendance and tardies. They will also be able to set up email alerts that can be customized to alert them to new tardies, absences, averages, or grades below a certain number.

If you are interested in participating in this program you will need to set up your personal account for your student(s). You will be able to add all of your students to one account. If there is a split household, both parents may request access to their student’s information. The parent must have this number as well as the student’s date of birth to add them to their account.

Elementary and Junior High campuses  will be mailing out letters that will include their student’s unique identification number. The Elementary School will also have them available for parents to pick up at Parent Orientation Night.  All letters should be received by September 8th.  Please contact your child's campus if yours does not arrive by that date.  The High School letters will not be mailed.  They will be available for pick up in the office after September 8th.  If you student is 18 years of age they will have to sign a letter of consent to release this information to their parent.

You should be aware that no one at the school district will have access to your username or password. Should you happen to forget this information you will have to go through the retrieval process from the Parent Portal page. If you have any problems please refer to the help button in the upper right hand corner of the  Parent Portal webpage.

The step by step instructions can be found in the Public Information section of the HISD website in the Public Information article.
